Mary Kathryn & Michael
Hello,
We are Mary Kathryn and Michael.
Generally, our days start when our two cats, Fluffy and Griswold, wake us up wanting to be fed. One of the few benefits of COVID was that it provided the time to bring in these stray cats from the neighborhood. Once the cats are fed, we rush off to our jobs as a high school counselor (Mary Kathryn) and at a local utility company (Michael). We both enjoy our jobs and feel a sense of purpose serving our community. After work we arrive at our older, charming home. Our neighborhood is lined with similarly old homes and the streets are dotted with live oaks. It is within walking distance of many great restaurants and shops. Our weekday evenings include going on walks, reading, or just relaxing with some Netflix. On the weekends we enjoy hosting our family and friends for football games and holiday traditions such as pumpkin carving, corn beef and cabbage, and attending parades. This works out well since Mary Kathryn loves to decorate for any, and all, holidays and Michael enjoys cooking meals for others. Our weekends always end with attending church. Our time off can include a long weekend at the beach, or extended vacations attending Michael’s family reunions in the Midwest or our favorite activity: visiting the National Parks.
While our lives are busy and fulfilling, we feel something, or someone, is missing. We have built and envisioned our lives around the idea that we would start a family. We would love to have some extra (small) hands helping us feed the cats. Our home and neighborhood were chosen due to their proximity to great schools and on the way to and from work. We both come from large families; Michael has at least 40 cousins himself, and there would be no shortage of other kids to play with. And we would love to be able to share some of the wonderful opportunities we have experienced ourselves such as education, travel, sports, music, art, and growing in our faith.
