John and Elizabeth
Hello, and thank you for taking the time to get to know a little bit about us.
We are John, Elizabeth, and Benjamin (2). John is a middle school music teacher. He is always ready to make new friends and talk to you about any topic…and is full of dad jokes to go with it! Elizabeth is a former elementary school teacher and currently a full time mom to our son. She brings the sparkle and creativity to our house and is always doing something fun for our family.
We met at an outdoor dance on a beautiful summer day in 2014 and got married about a year later. We love children and have always wanted to raise a family together. While we originally imagined adoption would be a later part of our family’s story, we have been unable to get pregnant. Then, last year, we were blessed with the most amazing son, Benjamin, through adoption. We are thankful everyday that we get to be his parents. He is so creative and is determined to figure out how things work. He knows exactly where each musical instrument is in our house (of which there are several!) and he is always making music and dancing along. He especially loves other kids and puts a smile on everyone’s face whenever we go for walks in our neighborhood. We can already tell that Benji will be the best big brother. He loves to interact and play with others. While he’s often on the move, he gives the best snuggles and hugs. We look forward to him and a little sibling bonding with energy, love, and care.
Family is extremely important to us. With our free time, we prioritize spending quality time with each other and our son as well as our extended family, which now includes Benji’s biological family as well. When we can’t visit, we love to text and video chat. The best times are making memories together! As a family, we especially like sharing holidays and celebrations. We also enjoy spending time outdoors with friends, singing songs while hanging around the house, going to Bible study with families from church, cooking new recipes, playing games with the neighbors, and going to musical and theatrical performances. When we’re not at home, we love to travel! Our walls are covered with pictures and artwork from the different cities and countries we’ve visited.
